Five Favourites: JULY!

Hi Guys,

I can't believe how quickly this month has gone! Seems like only yesterday I was doing my June favourites and now here we are. Usually July is a really annoying month for me because I can't wait to get to August (aka my birthday) but this month has had it's good parts!

Here are my five favourite things from this month:

1. Lip Pens:

I don't know how this happened, but I've recently become obsessed with lip pens. First off, I wanted a Revlon Just Bitten one, and then it escalated from there! My favourite one is my Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses light pink one, the colour is really similar to the colour of my lips and just gives them a hint of colour. In my opinion the Rimmel ones are much better than the Revlon... The balm isn't as soft as the Revlon and the colour isn't as patchy!

2. Embracing the weather/Winter is coming:

Photo from weheartit

I know last month I posted about how the weather was a bit sunny and was cheering me up. Well, it rained for all but 5 days this month. We literally had a 5 day summer and that's probably our lot. I was a bit depressed about it, but I've decided to embrace it. At the end of the day, cold weather means winter is coming, and winter means cosy nights in, hot chocolate, Christmas, big warm jumpers... I love winter fashion, and seeing it all in the shops is so exciting! I even bought a black and burgundy skirt which I can't wait to wear!

3. Going out with friends!

I went out at the weekend with some friends and it was the first time since February. I had such a good time. It was nice to properly relax, when I'm at home I'm always worrying about Caleb hurting himself or getting into trouble but I got to unwind properly and it was amazing! That being said, coming home on Sunday evening and getting cuddles and kisses from my little boy was the best part of the weekend!

4. Indie nail polish:

It's no secret that I love indie nail polish. Recently I've only been buying indies... Getting hold of them has also been made easier with Llarowe becoming a stockist of a few of the well known indies. I bought a couple of CrowsToes polishes as well as Pretty and Polished Sand Art when they were launched. The Candeo Colors came direct from their latest opening, can't believe I managed to get three! As much as I love Llarowe, if I can get the polishes direct from the store, I will, because I begrudge paying an extra few dollars... The A England polishes came from their Mythicals Sale a couple of weeks ago where each of the Mythicals polishes were nearly half price at £5!

You can look forward to seeing these on the blog soon

5. Clothes shopping:

Photo from weheartit

This does kind of apply every month... But my boyfriend has been away for the duration of July and I've found myself buying a lot more clothes because of that! The weather doesn't help, I feel like my wardrobe isn't well equipped for cloudy but very warm, or sunny with showers, weather. This means I've probably been shopping even more than usual! Tying this in with point number two, I've had my eye on winter clothes too, so this has been making me even happier! What is worrying me is that some of the summer items I've bought recently might not even get used at all until next year! I'm convincing myself that the new summery patterned playsuit I bought today will do this winter with tights!

Hope you enjoyed this month's Five Favourites! What have been your favourite things about this month?

See you back here on Thursday, I have a beautiful indie to show you!

NOTW(E) - Peacock Gradient

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I mentioned on Friday that I was going to visit a friend, and I had a lot of fun there. A couple of friends were celebrating their birthdays and there was a fancy dress theme: Ibiza Zoo Project. If you haven't heard of Zoo Project, it's a club night in Ibiza that involves animal fancy dress which is generally just face and body paint!

Now face painting, makeup, etc are not my thing. I can do nails, but anything involving my face is really not my forte! Luckily, one of my mummy friends is a professional makeup artist and she jumped at the chance to do my makeup. We settled on peacock makeup and had a trial on Friday. Then Saturday morning she did the real thing, sealed it with fixing spray and off I went!

But I couldn't NOT do my nails to match! I wanted to try another gradient, so I chose Rimmel Sky High, which is a bright turquoise colour, and Models Own Gold Rush, which is a gold foil with a glass fleck appearance. I used my normal method (the Nailasaurus method) and I was really happy with the result! Cleanup was a nightmare for this, it took me about two hours to clean up and I still wasn't happy with it, but it was 2:30am and I needed sleep before going out!

One of my followers on Instagram suggested putting Vaseline on my fingers before doing my gradient to minimise how much polish goes onto my fingers. She also suggested taping them beforehand. Has anybody else used these methods? Do they work?

Here it is! After I did the gradient I had to dab on a bit of extra gold because the two polishes I used weren't equal in terms of coverage. I also put on two very thick layers of Seche Vite to even out the texture. Please mind the messy cuticles!

Beautiful gradient!

Just in case you were wondering, here's what my makeup looked like all finished! Kellie did an amazing job! After my trial I got complimented in Superdrug by the sales assistant, and then on Saturday a lady stopped and told me how nice it looked! A lot of people stared though, I guess it's not every day they see a girl walking around with a huge peacock feather drawn on her face!

Me! Look how well my nails match!

If you're thinking that my outfit looks familiar, that's the playsuit I featured in my £100 ASOS Blogger Challenge post. I have a lot of time for ASOS, and this playsuit only cost £18, how could I turn it down?!

I hope you liked my latest gradient. They're making me so happy at the moment, all I can think of is what colours I can put together next!

Don't forget about my giveaway! If you haven't entered already, you can do so here. You still have 18 days to enter, by which time I think the Olympics will be finished (I have no idea...!) but I want to make sure people have enough time to enter!

See you back here tomorrow, when it'll be time for my second edition of Five Favourites!

Olympic Giveaway!

Hi Everyone!

I'm so sorry I went AWOL yesterday! I had a post planned, then I was watching TV... All of a sudden I looked up and it was 11 o'clock so way too late to start. I had an early-ish morning today so I didn't want to stay up.

Anyway, you may or may not know that tonight is the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The highlight for me was the Queen, and the dancing through the ages, a lot of good songs were on there! Anyway, it's kind of a big deal and I have just the right post to celebrate!

A GIVEAWAY!  I know I said 75 followers would be my next giveaway but I thought I might as well do a little one! And it's a good time for my first Rafflecopter experience. Makes it easier for me anyway if I don't have to input entries manually!

The rules are: You must be a follower of my blog. That's about it! I know that annoys some people, but at the end of the day, giveaways are meant to do something nice for my followers who read and enjoy my blog. If you're a follower, you'll have up to 9 entries at first, and some can be done again and again.

The prize is a bottle of Barry M Jewel Britannia, very fitting! You can see my swatches here. This is a limited edition shade exclusive to Boots online and the Barry M website.

The giveaway starts today and ends on the 18th of August at 4am (sorry, Rafflecopter works in EST). This is in three weeks time and you can see a countdown on the widget!

Good luck! I'll be announcing the winner on the 18th of August! In the meantime, blogging will resume as normal!

Have a brilliant weekend, I'm going to see my friend for a night out tomorrow (my first since February!) so that will be very fun!

See you on Monday!

£100 ASOS Blogger Challenge!

Hi Guys!

I've had such a lovely day today. I took my son to a new playgroup, which he really enjoyed, and it was sunny all day so I managed to fit in a bit of sunbathing this afternoon! I also had my first driving lesson since November 2010 this morning... I've been learning to drive for 4 years and have yet to take my test. I keep getting to the point of booking/taking my test then stopping for whatever reason. I'm determined that this will be my last set of lessons, and today went really well. My new instructor said my driving was good and I can book my test for 6/7 weeks time. I really need to be able to drive, it's really affecting my life now!

Anyway, today's post is something different. I've seen these posts on a few blogs and I really wanted to have a go myself. Discountcoder.com is having a £100 ASOS giveaway. You can find out more here but the basic concept is that you go to ASOS, create an outfit amounting to no more than £100 and then blog about it! ASOS is my favourite online retailer, at least half of my purchases are made from there, so I jumped at the chance to choose my favourite items.

So that's what I have done! Here are my picks!

1. Rare Halterneck Playsuit - £18
2. ASOS Wedges - £17
3. ASOS Watch - £10
4. French Connection Bracelet - £8
5. ASOS Dice Earrings - £1.50
6. And Mary Geek Owl Necklace - £10
7. Pieces Bag - £9

TOTAL SPEND = £73.50

I tried to choose something similar to what I would wear on a night out. I love playsuits, and I like to stick with a black colour scheme with subtle colour injections.

I've seen a lot of bloggers saying they struggled with getting things for under £100, but I didn't struggle at all! The rules state no discount codes or student discount, so I just chose sale items to make my money go further.

I spend a lot of time browsing the ASOS site, so I could have done this challenge ten times over! They have amazing clothes and if you've been living under a rock for years and haven't heard of ASOS, you need to check it out now!

My favourite items are the shoes, which I think I might buy anyway (£17 is too cheap to turn down), the earrings (which I've had my eye on for months) and the watch! I'm so tempted to buy the watch, but my Dad bought me one for my graduation last year and so I don't think he'd be impressed if I turned up wearing something worth £10!

If you're a blogger and you'd like to have a try at this, find out more here and head to ASOS to create your look!

Gradient Nails and Guest Posting

Hi everyone,

Did you all have a good weekend? I spent most of mine with my brother, we went shopping, out for lunch and just hung out at my house, so it was nice. Also, the weather got better yesterday at last! It's been raining every day for weeks now so to have a bit of sun has been amazing.

Today was so hot and sunny, while my son was asleep I laid out and actually had some pretty decent tan lines after an hour. During the winter I always hate the fact that I have olive skin because it looks awful without a tan... I look at everyone else with their pale pink skin and hate my washed out yellowy face! But in the summer I love my half-Arabic genes, I can be out in the sun for 10 minutes and catch the sun. Don't get me wrong, it has its downfalls... If I'm wearing a vest and forget to tuck the straps in, I have strap marks forever until they even out!

Anyway, onto the polish! I have a gradient manicure to show you. I actually did this for my guest post over at Island Girl Insights (you can see that here) but I love it so much I have to post it here too!

I used MUA Shades 12, Wet'n'Wild White, Revlon Girly, along with a sponge. It's the normal big yellow one I use for everything, it's a car washing sponge from ASDA and I bought it for 50p.

The method I used for the gradient was the one that The Nailasaurus posted here, but I started with a white base. Mainly because the polishes I used had different finishes, so I wanted to make sure they both popped, rather than painting my whole nail with one colour first, in case I could see it underneath, if that makes sense!

Here is the result, I used two coats of Seche Vite on top!

I was so in love with this mani that I wore it for four days. The only reason I took it off was because I had to finish the other half of my guest post. I do two manicures for under £5 and this was the first one I did.

I hope you liked my gradient mani! Over the past couple of months I've had some unsuccessful gradient attempts but I think this was a real success!

See you tomorrow!

NYC Colors Ink Stain and Nail Pop Pearl Effect

Hi guys,

I can't believe it's the end of the week! I've been so busy so I'll be glad for the weekend to arrive... I'm a bit annoyed though because I don't get a lay in! I've got a plumber arriving at 9am (!!!!!!!!) to service the boiler. I'm not an early riser, not in the slightest. Everybody told me that would change once Caleb was born, and yes, we had nearly 9 months of getting up in the night and then up at half 7 in the morning, but now he sleeps until 10am every day, so I can still get up late every morning, which is amazing!

I had planned something cooler for today's post, but I was so tired last night that I just wasn't up to it, so I thought I'd just try out and untried.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, the only NYC Colors polish I owned was Lexington Yellow. And possibly a blue? I'm not 100% sure on the blue, I'll have to root through my stash. But when I was buying a black polish for Charlotte, the winner of my last giveaway, I picked up Ink Stain. It's a very dark shimmery blue. This is from their "Expert Last" range, rather than the "In a New York Minute" polishes that I usually go for.

Formula wise this was brilliant, ideal for how I apply my polish. I polish in thick coats, and this was great in one, but I used two anyway just to make sure...

Then I thought I'd add something on top. I thought of stamping, but I was really short for time today before my son's baby music class, so I went for flakies instead. I chose Nail Pop Pearl Effect, which has dark blue flakies. It's pretty much the same as the Nails Inc Gossip Girl Serena Collection duo. I bought it from Superdrug a while ago and haven't really worn it, but I used it in my Happy Mothers' Day Franken a while ago.

Here are some pics, I'm wearing two coats of each polish with a coat of Seche Vite:

Natural light
Flash
Overall, I'm not crazy about this combo to be honest. I love both polishes on their own, but I think I should have used a teal holo flakie or a darker base. I'm so glad I got around to using Ink Stain though, it's really similar to one of my long time favourite polishes - Collection 2000's Electric Punk.

If you'd like to buy either of these polishes, NYC Ink Stain retails at £2.49, and Nail Pop Pearl Effect for £5, both are available at Superdrug.

Have a great weekend!

MUA Shade 12

Hi everyone,

Oh my, I'm so tired today! I went to my pram exercise class this morning and I'm so tired! I had my dinner and collapsed on the sofa for a while before writing this! I've got a feeling this is going to be a short post because I can hardly keep my eyes open!

I have a MUA polish for you this evening. Shade 12 is kind of like a darker version of a bubblegum/Barbie pink and it has a semi-jelly finish. It's not something I used to wear very often but I saw it in Superdrug and it caught my eye enough to buy it for £1!

The application on this was pretty good. I like MUA polishes a lot and own quite a few. Generally I like the formula of all of them, the only thing that bugs me is the brush! The bristles are really stiff, so I find if I have to go over the same part of the nail twice, the bristles go out sideways and dent the rest of the polish. That's 100% my only complaint though, I love these little bargain bottles!

Here are some photos, I used three coats of Shade 12 and a coat of Seche Vite. Like I mentioned, it's a jelly-ish creme, so I still had a tiny bit of VNL at 3 coats, but I loved how it looked.

Shade
Sun
You can find this in Superdrug where it retails for a teensy weensy £1! It's definitely worth getting for that price! It reminds me of an untried Barry M that I have in my stash (whose name alludes me...) so I might have to dig it out and do a comparison, even though I'm sure the Barry M is lighter...

Sorry for such a short post, I'll make up for it tomorrow, I have a good idea for a post so hopefully I'll get my nails painted tonight before I pass out for the evening!

How To: Ombre Hair Extensions

Hi guys,

It's a very late post from me today, editing my photos for this post has taken ages! I mentioned yesterday that I was going to post something a bit different, and I wanted to stick to it, so here goes!

Ombre hair is something I've been seeing loads of recently. I know the trend has been around for a while, months and years, but I've seen a lot more of it lately and I love it!

I don't do anything with my hair to be honest. I've been trying to grow it for years and it's very slow progress. I've had the same kind of haircut since around 2007 when I started growing out my "just past my ears" non-style to recover from an unfortunate pink dye going orange and yellow in the sun debacle. Basically, it's the bane of my life! Therefore, I'm totally unwilling to put any bleach on it in case it damages my hair so much that it won't grow, or worse, I'll have to cut loads off!

Anyway, I wanted to achieve ombre hair, so I thought I'd dye my extensions. They're Remy natural hair ones, so I knew I could dye them okay. So I set to work on researching how to dye them myself and decided to give it a go, here's how I did it!

Barry M Chameleon Nail Paint Lilac

Hi everybody!

I can't believe the weekend is over already! I saw my cousin on Saturday and then went for some lunch with my Mum on Sunday. I went into Boots thinking I would buy some nail polish and actually ended up not buying any! I bought foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow and yet another lip pen, but no polish! I felt very proud of myself, because I am supposed to be on a no-buy!!!

Anyway, today I have a Barry M Chameleon polish to show you. These came out a month or so ago and I bought two out of the three shades. The Chameleon collection is unique(ish) in that you paint the polish onto your nails and it is one colour, and then when you apply topcoat, the polish changes colour. I believe NÂș7 had something like this a few years back, but at the moment this is the only polish of this kind that is readily available in the UK.

Lilac is light purple foil that changes to a dark purple metallic colour after you put on topcoat. It's really strange because the dark purple has a totally different finish. It's hard to explain, but it looks like you have a blob of dark purple jelly on your nail!

Okay, enough of the strange explanation and onto the photos! Both were taken in sunlight and show two coats of Lilac. This is pretty much a one coater, but I put an extra on just in case!

First up is the polish when it is first applied:

And here it is with clear over the top. I used a dotting tool for the dots and then just the brush from the clear polish for the waves. I believe the clear I used was by NYC Colors.

I really like this idea. It's a good way to put your own stamp on a manicure without having to go to too much effort. Originally I wasn't going to buy this colour, but I saw it on a blog and fell in love with it, I think I like it more than the other one I have, which I'll be showing you soon!

This polish retails for £3.99 and is very widely available. You can buy it online at ASOS, Barry M, Boots and Superdrug, or in store at selected Boots and Superdug.

See you tomorrow! I'm working on a post that's a little bit different. I told you I was working on including some different features and things, so I'm doing it little by little. You never know, though, I might just chicken out!

You'll have to just come back and check it out!

NOTD: Barry M Jewel Britannia!

Hi guys,

Another NOTD today. I have so many polishes to swatch but I just got this yesterday and I couldn't resist! It's safe to say that my love affair with Barry M has been rekindled!

Barry M have released a British themed glitter polish in honour of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and I had to buy it as soon as I heard about it! I put out a tweet and Instagram asking for suggestions on what to layer this over, and some of my followers suggested grey, blue, pale pink, and yellow. I decided on grey for my first mani using this.

I wanted a pale grey, so I went with H&M Miss Stone Heart, forgetting that this dries a lot darker than it looks in the bottle. I'm in the market for a pale grey... If you know of a good one, PLEASE leave me a comment. I'm going shopping on Sunday (well actually I'm going for lunch with my Mum, but little does she know, we'll be shopping too!) and I'd love to pick one up!

Here it is, I used two coats of Miss Stone Heart with one coat of Jewel Britannia. The formula was slightly gloopy on this so I had to dab it on, but I don't mind doing that to be honest...

Natural light
Sunlight
This is so gorgeous. I'm loving the fact that the mainstream brands are coming out with these indie looking polishes.

My message to all UK based brands is this: PEOPLE WANT CHUNKY GLITTER!!!!! I mean come on, Models Own Ibiza Mix is the perfect example of this, it was sold out everywhere, in every Boots and Superdrug I looked in, so I had to buy it online (which I hate doing). People obviously like the look of them, and who wouldn't? Chunky glitters look amazing! To all the people who say they look tacky, cheap and immature, you're obviously not wearing them right!

Jewel Britannia is a limited edition glitter available exclusively on the Boots website where it is currently sold out, and on the Barry M website where it is still available! It retails for £2.99.

I bought three of these, and I'm planning on having a giveaway soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Have a great weekend!

NOTD! Barry M and Color Club

Hi everyone!

It's a bit of a quick post from me today... I'm so tired and miserable because of the weather. I'm about to buy a pac-a-mac because my only waterproof coat is a huge fur lined one from Topshop and it's not cold enough to wear it, I need something thinner. I can't believe we're having such awful weather in July, it's horrible. People wonder why the British talk about the weather and this is the reason: it's crazy!

Anyway, I have a NOTD to show you. I've been wearing this for two days now and I love it!

For this manicure, I used three coats of Barry M Blue Moon, then once that was dry(ish) I sponged on Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe from Winter 2011. I did this by putting a blob of polish at the base of my nail near my cuticle and dabbing it upwards with the sponge. To top it off I used two coats of Seche Vite.

I was so happy with how this turned out! I think the polishes go really well together! It's made me want to try more of the Color Club glitters that I bought from TKMaxx.

Now, anyone who has bought nail polish from TKMaxx will know my struggles... There's a story behind this Color Club polish... I picked up a set of glitters in TKMaxx a couple of months ago because Covered in Diamonds was in there, but the packaging was marked "Glitter Vixen." Obviously I knew it wasn't that collection, but for £7.99 I couldn't leave it, Covered in Diamonds goes for more on eBay! So I figured I'd buy it and research the other colours later! Then when I did some research looking at swatches etc I saw some were from the Beyond the Mistletoe collection, one (Covered in Diamonds) was from the Untamed Luxury collection and one was from the Pardon My French collection. Only one was actually a Glitter Vixen polish!

But who can say no to seven polishes for £7.99, especially when they're pretty glitters! You can probably still find this set in some TKMaxx stores, and Barry M Blue moon is available for £2.99 at Boots, Superdrug and the Barry M website.

China Glaze 3D Prismatic - Optical Illusion

Hi guys,

I hope you're having a good week so far. I'm so depressed today... This is the view that I have to look at all day:

The weather has been so bad! It's July and we're on a severe weather warning!!! I feel like I'm not going to get a summer. I need some sun, I'm pale and miserable...

So here's some glitter! I bought this a little while ago after I saw some swatches online. Optical Illusion is from the 3D Prismatic Collection and it has a blue/purple duochrome as well as different sized glitters.

This went on really smoothly and I only needed two (thick coats) for the pictures below.

Natural light
Sunlight
Colour shift
Macro
I love this! I've heard it looks great over black as well so that's something I'll definitely be trying out too.

I know this is really easy to get hold of in the USA, but if you're in the UK you can find it at Nail Polish Direct here for £5.45. I've mentioned this site before and I highly recommend it! I'm planning my next purchase as we speak!

Barry M Silver Pink Glitter

Hi everyone!

Did you all have a great weekend? I had my brother, my cousin and her daughter round on Saturday. My cousin's daughter LOVES nail polish, at six years old she already has 50! So I got my big box out and she picked 28 that she wanted to wear... So I talked her down to one colour for each toe and then one colours for all her fingers, with dots in another colour! She had very good taste and most of her picks were indies! A couple of Dollish Polishes, a Lynnderella, she loves the glitter!

On Sunday I went shopping with my cousin... I ended up forgetting my purse (can I still blame baby brain when my son is 9 months old tomorrow?) and she had to lend me some money... I'll have a haul post up maybe tomorrow but I have one of the polishes I bought to show you now!

Barry M have just released a new range of glitters, there are five of them and today's polish is one of them. I bought two of the others, and I think I'll go and get the last two this week because they're super pretty!

This one is called Pink Silver Glitter. It's one of those glitters that doesn't need to be layered, looks a bit like a foil from far away and could look like a glass fleck polish to the untrained eye! The polish is made up of a rosy pink, paler pink and silver glitter, which to be honest you can't really see unless you look really closely. I think the idea is to create a foil with a bit of originality, and this mix of glitter definitely succeeds in that, the mixture creates a silvery pink with a bit of added depth.

Here are some photos. I used two coats of Pink Silver Glitter, but three would definitely have been better. My nail line wasn't anywhere near as visible in real life as it is in these photos by the way! My camera loves to show me up!

Inside in the shade
Sunlight
You can buy Silver Pink Glitter at Boots and Superdrug for £2.99. It's definitely worth getting because I think it would suit a lot of different skin tones!

I'm going to be doing a Barry M giveaway soon-ish so stay tuned!

Also, the second of my guest column posts is up at Island Girl Insights, you can see that here! Let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas of nail art designs you'd like to see, let me know at trulypolishedblog@gmail.com or in my comments section.

Little Rant and Something Beautiful!

Hi everyone!

OMG what a day! I've really had the day from hell today...

1. The weather was so bad today, so rainy and really humid. I had to do a 15 minute walk (I don't drive) and my only waterproof coat is fur lined and I was sooo hot! I arrived at his baby music class so sweaty, with my straightened hair totally frizzy.

2. My son had a good sleep and slept until 10am, but that meant when we had to leave for baby music, he was supposed to be napping, so he screamed all afternoon.

3. I had to go to the supermarket, then and hour and £££££s later I had to unpack a million bags of shopping into my tiny kitchen. Why is food so expensive??? And nappies, formula, everything for babies! Obviously I treated myself to a new lip pen to cheer myself up...

Anyway, I have something pretty to show you all. I've had this combination in my head as soon as I saw Pirouette My Whistle.

This is three coats of Cult Nails Enticing with one coat of OPI Pirouette My Whistle.

Sun
Shade
Isn't this so pretty? I love the combo! You can buy Enticing here at Cult Nails where it retails for $10. Pirouette My Whistle is available for £8.45 at Nail Polish Direct (free delivery) and at ASOS for £11. I highly recommend Nail Polish Direct. They sell China Glaze, OPI, Jessica etc and their prices are great. I ordered a China Glaze from there and it arrived really quickly!

Have a great weekend, and if you read Island Girl Insights over the weekend you should be able to see a guest post from Yours Truly!

NOTD!!! GOSH Holographic 549 - And my first video

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a lovely week! My son is on the mend, and although that means he's less sleepy and awake more, I'm not worrying about him all the time!

Today I have an "OMG I can't believe I'm posting this" post to show you. I've been saying for ages I've needed a sunny day for something amazing and finally my prayers were answered!

I got GOSH HOLOGRAPHIC!!!!

This has been my most wanted nail polish for ages, I've traipsed through so many Superdrug GOSH discontinued bins trying to find it, to no avail. There are rumours that GOSH will be re-releasing Holographic... I tweeted them to ask, and they replied with a cryptic but promising message, here it is:

Anyway, I was hoping that a new one in the pipeline would stop me from wanting this, but it turns out it did the opposite. The thought of a new one just made me need the original! So I went onto eBay and the rest is history! I got a good price, don't worry!

I was worried about the application would be a nightmare, but I used two coats of Nubar Ridge Filler as my base coat and three coats of Holographic went on quite easily. I did have to make sure I didn't go over the same spot twice, but I think that goes for any base coat.

Now onto some photos! This is three coats with no topcoat. I've included a photo in the shade so you can see, it looks a bit blah in the shade but in the sun it's amazing!

Sunlight
Shade
My favourite part of the holographic colours!
I've also included my first ever video! The backing track is Farewell to the Fairground by White Lies in case you were wondering!

Isn't Holographic amazing?!

Don't worry if you can't get hold of 549 Holographic, because I'm pretty sure they will be releasing a holo (or hopefully a few!) later on in the year!

I'm planning on stamping on top of this, not sure what to choose though! I'm reluctant to cover any of the beauty but some irrational part of my brain thinks stamping over it might make it last longer...

See you tomorrow!
