Speciallita HITS Hera

Hi guys,

I've had another day of shopping today, which you'll know already if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (@truly_polished). When I went yesterday I saw a cobalt blue maxi skirt and today I went back and got it as well as a few tshirts. Since I started my blog I've mainly been buying nail polish, but now the weather is getting nicer, I'm getting inspired to buy my summer wardrobe. This summer I plan to be more adventurous with my style choices. I've always been interested in fashion, but I've stuck to plainer things that I think suit me, instead of trying anything new. I literally wear black leggings EVERY DAY and my version of mixing it up is wearing tights and a dress!

So this summer I'm going to try new things with my clothes and this cobalt blue maxi dress is me dipping my toes in! I've also changed my hair from a side parting which I've had for the last ten years to a middle parting! It might not sound like much but it's a big deal to me!

Anyway, today I have the last of my newer HITS holos to show you. I only have the holo topcoat left after this (Hefesto) and I'm slowly but surely getting photos together for that!

This is Hera, a teal holographic polish. This was so gorgeous in person but I couldn't capture its true beauty in the photos. I have no complaints about the formula of this, it went on smoothly, in two coats and covered perfectly. I didn't use topcoat for the photos below. Hera was SO much more holographic in rel life, but for some reason my camera didn't pick it up.

Speciallita HITS Phenomena Air Glow

Hi Everyone!

I'm so sorry I didn't get the chance to do a post last night! We decided to come up to my home town at really short notice yesterday, then spent the day running errands and packing. It's a three and a half hour drive and didn't get up to the house until almost midnight! So I didn't have any time to do it... I'm going to make up for it with tonight's post though!

I have another HITS Phenomena to show you, it is called Air Glow and it's a multichrome glitter that shifts from pink to orange to yellow. This didn't look great in the bottle but I thought I'd try it, and I was actually really surprised when I saw it on the nail. The colour shift is gorgeous!

The photos below show two thick coats of Air Glow over Models Own Black Magic. The application on this was really good, it covered a lot better than Afterglow, which you can see here.

This polish is so pretty! I've still got two polishes to swatch from this collection but I'm really impressed so far, which I knew I would be! HITS always make amazing polishes. Amazing multichromes and holos which are far better than anything else I've seen from any other brand!

I bought this here directly from Speciallita for R$5.50 but you can also get it from Llarowe for $10. Personally I don't want to pay $10 for something that I know only really costs the equivalent of about $2.00........! Now, please don't get me wrong, I love Llarowe, they are brilliant, but I like to keep my money if I can to spend on more polish!

Speciallita HITS No Olimpo Atena

Hi Everybody!

Hope you've all had a nice day! I've been so busy... I took my son to a mum and baby group this afternoon which I LOVE doing, he has a great time and I get to sit and chat! He was exhausted afterwards so he's been sleeping lots!

Today I have one of my holos from my swatching day! I have a long history with HITS Atena... I wanted it ages ago and it was sold out on Llarowe. Then it was my friend's birthday in February and I wanted to get it for her because she loves pink, but it was still sold out, so I got her a baby pink Ludurana holo instead. I ended up getting this directly from Speciallita from Brazil when I did my order.

Atena is a berry leaning hot pink with a really strong holographic effect. I really wish the holo would have shown up better in the photos, but for some reason my camera didn't like it! The application on this couldn't have been better, it covered well in two coats. This makes a really nice change from Poseidon (four coats) and Dionisio (three coats). I really wanted to keep this on for longer but I swatched it first!

These photos show two coats without top coat.

I love the base colour in this, the hot berry pink is really flattering and in my head I'm matching it with loads of summer outfits! It would look great matched with florals or pastels or even to add a pop of colour to a neutral outfit, this shade of pink is just perfect!

You can buy this from Llarowe for $10.00, but I bought it directly from the Speciallita HITS site for R$8.50.

Speciallita HITS No Olimpo Dionisio

Hi everybody,

I'm in SUCH a happy mood today! This is for two reasons:

1. The sun has been out all day, it's still sunny now at way past 7pm. All the sun made me want to do some swatching while I was sat in the garden. I got a few more HITS holos in my last order and I really didn't want to wait to swatch them so I did it today!

2. The Cult Nails $5 sale was on again! This time it was part two for the ones that were low stock in the last sale. I got Hypnotize Me that I wanted last time but missed out on, as well as Feel Me Up and Nevermore. Feel Me Up is the Black Friday yellow from last year. I was really gutted as I was late to the party and missed out, but Maria ordered it in by accident so she decided to put it back on the site and in the sale! Nevermore is their one coat black! Ever since she mentioned it on her blog I've been dying to get it and all of a sudden, it's here! I have two other blacks to show you from Models Own so I'll try and get those done before Nevermore arrives on my doorstep!

Anyway, holo time! I've chosen Dionisio as my first of today's polishes. It's a grape purple with a stunning holo effect! The formula on this was sheer, but the application was great because I used Nubar Ridge Filler as my base. I prefer more matte finish bases with holos, glossy bases make it more draggy to apply.

Here are some photos!

So beautiful!

I bought this polish because of what I had seen in swatches. I'm not usually a purple fan so I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I love it! You can get it directly from the Speciallita site for R$8.00 like I did or you can get it from Llarowe for $10. If you love holographic polishes, you have to have this! This collection is by far my favourite collection of nail polish of all time!

Speciallita HITS Mari Moon Dreamer

Hi guys,

Sorry it's such a late post tonight, I was watching a film. We rented Tower Heist which was really good, very funny, so it's definitely worth a watch if you haven't already seen it!

Tonight's post is one of my new HITS polishes that I got in the post a few days ago. It's so gorgeous. I couldn't wait to try this polish so my trip to the hairdresser yesterday seemed like the perfect opportunity! Dreamer is a multichrome polish that shifts from blue to purple to copper and to gold. It's really stunning. In bright light it looks totally blue but in duller lighting the colour shift is amazing! If you saw my post the other day on HITS Afterglow then this is the multichrome polish version of that glitter.

Here are some photos. I used two coats of Dreamer over my Black Gold by Giles polish. I didn't actually need two coats, but one of my nails had a patch on so I had to do another coat on all of them! The formula was great on this. I know a lot of people have problems with wonky brushes with HITS but I've never had any problems...

This is such a pretty polish, but my only complaint is the tipwear. Even wrapping my tips I got tipwear within a couple of hours, which is when I took the photos!

You can buy this polish directly from HITS like I did here for R$8.50 or you can buy it from Llarowe.

Speciallita HITS Afterglow

Hey everyone!

I've only just finished my dinner, I had such a nice home made cheese and spinach lasagne. Since we had our baby, my boyfriend and I have hardly cooked, so today it was nice to cook a proper meal even though we were exhausted!

Today I have the HITS Phenomena polish to show you as promised. I picked Afterglow as my first to post because it's the one I was most excited about, and it certainly didn't disappoint!

Afterglow is a multichrome glitter top coat that shifts from blue to purple to red. I layered this over black and I really don't think you could get this to full opacity on its own.

The photos below all show three coats of Afterglow over Black Polish by Gold by Giles. I took all the photos in natural daylight. No sun today unfortunately, what a surprise!

Macro - beautiful glitter

I absolutely adore this polish. This collection has been the one I've been most excited about. I love HITS and this is unlike anything else I've seen. It's different from other multichromes because the colour shift is in the glitter not the polish. Sometimes it even has a 3D effect which is really pretty to look at!

I bought this polish (and the other 9 I bought with it) directly from Speciallita here but they do sell them at Llarowe too.

Speciallita HITS No Olimpo Apolo

Hi everybody,

Today I have one of the polishes I got in my package from Llarowe a few days ago, Apolo from the HITS No Olimpo collection. This collection could potentially be my favourite nail polish collection of all time, I love holos and these holos are amazing!

Apolo is a dark blue polish with a really strong linear holographic effect. The formula on this was really good. In my opinion, base coat is everything with holos. When I reviewed Poseidon I had on a normal glossy base coat and experienced some dragging with the first coat so I wanted to try a different base with Apolo. I used Nubar Ridge Filler and found it so much better! With ridge filling base coats I find you get a rougher, more matte finish and holo polish goes on so much easier.

I used three coats of Apolo but I could have got away with two if I'd have been more careful. Compare that to four coats of Poseidon here! The holo effect was really strong, although not as strong as Poseidon. However, I think that's because Apolo is a darker and more pigmented polish. Either way this is beautiful and might be my favourite holo polish yet! In the sun it looks amazing and inside it is a really pretty denim blue colour which I love!

The photos below show three coats of Apolo with one coat of New York Colours In a New York Minute clear top coat. It's probably worth mentioning that even with the fast-dry top coat, the dry time for this polish was horrendous! I was denting it hours after!

I think you'll agree this polish is a real beauty! You can find it here at Llarowe for $10.

Have a good Easter weekend!

More Nail Mail!

Hi guys, another post for today!

One of my favourite things is shopping online. I buy stuff most days but what I hate is when I miss the postman for some reason! Especially when I've ordered more than one thing so I don't know exactly what I've missed when I see my attempted delivery slip!

When I got home last night I had TWO of these slips! I'm waiting for a few swap packages, and a lot of online orders so I was really curious to find out what I had missed, so today I rushed down to the sorting office to collect my things.

It was some serious nail mail! One package was from a polish buddy, Crystal from Crys Loves Polish and the other was an order from Llarowe.

I did a swap with Crystal for two bottles of Max Factor's Fantasy Fire and she sent me Essie's Absolutely Shore and Navigate Her, as well as China Glaze For Audrey. She added an image plate for good measure and sent me such a cute little card!

For Audrey, Navigate Her, Absolutely Shore

My Llarowe order included a couple of the HITS No Olimpo polishes plus two polishes from Up Colors, one holo and one flakie.

Rosa Star, Balada, Hefesto, Apolo

I can't wait to swatch all of these!!! I really can't pick which one of these is my favourite!

Speciallita HITS No Olimpo Poseidon

Hey everyone,

Before I go to the Netherlands, I've got a really nice polish to show you. I bought this at the same time as Festival, the flakie I posted yesterday, from Llarowe. Speciallita HITS is a Brazillian company that have some amazing polishes. I posted a picture of their Phenomena collection on Tuesday and I really can't wait to get it!!!

No Olimpo is a pale blue linear holographic polish. It's so sheer so I had to use 4 coats, but once I did, it looked amazing. It's blindingly holographic in the sun! I wore it for 3 days with no chips and I only took it off last night because I'd bought 8 new polishes that I couldn't wait to try out!

In the photos below I'm wearing four coats with Nº7's Stay Perfect Fast Dry top coat. I didn't use Seche Vite because as much as I love the glass like finish, it doesn't last well on me and usually ends up peeling after a day.

This is indoors with natural light

Look at that holo in the sunlight!

Macro

One thing worth mentioning is that the HITS polishes aren't 3-free as they contain formaldehyde. I always paint my nails in a well ventilated area so I don't mind, but if you paint yours in a closed room, it might be an idea to open a window.

I think you'll agree this is an lovely polish! If you like it as much as I do, you can find it here at Llarowe where it costs $10. I love this polish so much that I bought Hefesto and Apolo too. I'm waiting to receive them, but as soon as I do, I'll swatch and post them!

Speciallita Hits Phenomena

Check out these multichromes!

HITS make some amazing polishes, their No Olimpo collection is great, I'll be showing one of their polishes over the next couple of days and I have two more to come in the mail soon.

I'll for sure be snapping this whole collection up as soon as I can!
