H&M Misty Lilac and Chill Out

Hi Guys,

I hope you all had a great weekend! I went to see one of my friends on Sunday and it was so lovely. The weather was good and we all took Caleb to a park to swim and play. I had an amazing day and it was nice to have some sun!

I have some new polishes to show you today. I picked these up as an impulse buy at the checkout in H&M last week and I'm so glad I did!

Misty Lilac is a pastel lilac creme, and Chill Out is a muted, greyed out what I thought was blue but actually looks more green on me, surprise surprise!

My main observation about these polishes is that although the bottle looks the same as others I've posted about, there have been some very welcome changes... The cap is now squared rather than round, which I find a lot easier to hold. Also with the new caps has come a new brush. This is the ultimate love or hate brush: a wide, rounded brush. Some people absolutely love them, some hate them. I'm in the first category. I was so happy to undo the bottle and see a rounded brush, I find them a lot easier to use and I can paint my nails a lot quicker.

There isn't much to say about the formula of these, it's great, perfect coverage in two coats and dries really quickly, which is ideal!

Both polishes are available at selected H&M stores for £2.99 each.

H&M New Moon & Barry M Watermelon

Hello!

I hope you all remember who I am!

This is my attempt to get back into the swing regular blogging! I've been all over the place recently with the move, but now I've come down to my Mum's house for a couple of weeks so I've been uprooted again! I had a great routine in November, but after that, everything kind of went downhill so I'm hoping that I can get that back again! First step is a lightbox, I want a proper set up for my nail photos. And the next step is an organised stash. I'll feel much better when I have my polishes organised in my Helmer (which I put together the other night) and I can see what I have and haven't posted...

Anyway, tonight's post is a kind of followup to this post. I wanted to layer New Moon over something else so you could see the flakies better so I chose Barry M Watermelon. The photos below show one coat of New Moon over Watermelon. These pictures were taken a while ago when there was a bit of sun!

Isn't this pretty. I'm dying to see this over black, so I'll make sure I do it as a NOTD post for that.

This polish retails o £1.50 at H&M, what a bargain!

You can buy Barry M Watermelon for £3.99 from all of the usual outlets.

I have some pretty polishes to show you soon, but they're at home so it'll have to wait a couple of weeks. In the meantime I have other posts planned! I'm really hoping to get back to three posts a week minimum, or four if I can manage!

Right, that's all from me this evening, I didn't have a great night's sleep last night, then I woke up with a banging headache... Then I had to pack up everything and drive 260 miles! I'm exhausted!

See you soon!

NOTD: Utopia and New Moon

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend! I cooked my Mum dinner on Saturday at her house and watched X Factor, and did nothing on Sunday. Yesterday I went to Cheltenham, and can I just say, now I understand why my boyfriend said long distance driving is tiring. 220 miles, and 2 hours there and back and I was mentally and physically exhausted, hence no post!

And I'm ill... And my son is ill. #1 on my list of things I currently hate is people bringing their sick kids to playgroup. Poor Caleb hasn't had a break... Now he has a cold and conjunctivitis. And I can't breathe through my nose because I instantly caught his cold!

Anyway, tonight's post is a NOTD. I wanted something girly and almost princessy, which is really unlike me! I knew just what I wanted, and this looked just as perfect as I thought it would!

Utopia is a very pale pink, in some lights in looks almost lilac and in others almost white. It has a great formula and for me two coats is enough for full opacity. Utopia is one of the best loved Models Own colours, but personally it never appealed to me, I prefer darker colours... I bought this during the 50% off sale celebrating 100,000 likes on Facebook to see what all the fuss was about. £2.50 wasn't a bad price (I bought 21 polishes in the sale so the cheaper the better) and I can definitely see it now. I'll have swatches of this up on it's own soon I think.

New Moon is one of my newer polishes. I bought this the week before last in H&M. I first saw this on the Nailasaurus Blog (you can see Sammy's post here) and wanted it immediately, but I couldn't find it anywhere! It's distinctive because it's in a really small bottle with a strange purple metallic lid, not like the normal bottles, but I couldn't see it. Anyway, when I was paying for various other items, my friend was in the cosmetics but, and I asked her to try and find a gold flake polish and she found it! For £1.50 it's a total bargain! It's a clear polish with gold flakies. Not colour changing, just kind of translucent. It's so pretty!

Here it is, the pics below show two coats of Utopia, one coat of New Moon, and one coat of topcoat.

Macro

Doesn't this look so pretty together. I think the macro shot and the flash shot show the translucent element of the flakies best. These feel the same on the nail as the flakies in Nubar 2010 and the such like, they lay flat and they don't eat topcoat.

I'll have swatches up soon of New Moon over some other colours, but until then I'll say this... BUY THIS IF YOU CAN! For £1.50 you really won't find anything as subtly beautiful as this...

Now pardon me while I wallow in self pity until my cold has gone! At least my nails look pretty.......

H&M Blue Bliss Continued!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post from me tonight, I have a really busy few days coming up so I could do with having a decent sleep... I keep saying that and still not going to bed early, but I want to be in bed by 11 tonight!

Tonight I have the second part of my H&M Blue Bliss Post (you can see the first part here). I said I would show you it layered over back so here it is!

I used one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore and one coat of Blue Bliss for the photos below.

Natural light

Sunlight

I love how this looks, although I don't think my camera was a fan! I couldn't get it to focus in natural light and then in the sunlight I got too many sparkles in the photo. Not that I'm complaining, they look like Christmas tree lights. I know, the dreaded C-word... Usually I hate seeing anything Christmassy before my brother's birthday (26th October) but I saw decorations in a shop today and now I'm all excited! I need to get my son's birthday out of the way first though before I dare to think about all that!

If you would like to buy Blue Bliss, it's available at H&M for £2.99. It's definitely something that's worth buying. I don't own anything like it. I know OPI Last Friday Night is similar-ish, but with the price of OPI in the UK I won't be buying that in a hurry!

H&M Nail Polish Blue Bliss

Hi Guys,

We've reached the end of another week already. This has been a good week for me, I've been really busy and I've had two successful driving lessons. Hopefully within the next 6 weeks I'll be able to take my test after four years of on and off learning!

I have a new polish to show you, new to me anyway, I'm not sure how long it's been out but I haven't seen it before and I spend a lot of time in H&M! It's called Blue Bliss and it's a sheer blue jelly base filled with iridescent blue and purple glitters that sparkle to show green, copper, pink and lots more depending on how you look at it.

The formula is good on this, it's easy to apply and the glitter spreads out well. The base is very sheer though. Normally I'd use this for layering but I wanted to see how long it would take me to get it opaque, so I did coat after coat after coat! It looked so pretty!

The photos below show four coats of Blue Bliss with one coat of Seche Vite.

Natural light
Flash
I loved the look of this on it's own and I'll wear it like this again, but only when my nails are shorter. The VNL was killing me! I'm in the search for the perfect colour to match this for layering, but I'm eager to layer it over black to see what the iridescent glitters look like, so I'll be sure to post photos when I do.

This polish is available at H&M for £2.99.

Don't forget my giveaway is still running! It was meant to end at 4am tomorrow morning but I have extended it to run until Monday morning at 4am, midnight EST on Sunday night for any American people who have entered. I will be announcing the winner on Monday so I figured I might as well run it until then... You can enter here!

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!!!

H&M Lemon Tree

Hi Guys,

It's an earlier than usual post from me today, I'm going shopping later on so I'll be very busy! My boyfriend's laptop is broken so we're taking it to the Apple store, and I might have a look for a couple of new nail polishes...

I have some pretty amazing nail mail waiting for me when I get home that includes OPI Pirouette My Whistle and some Dollish Polish so I'm on the hunt for some jelly polishes so I can do some jelly sandwiches! I already have one in mind using Cult Nails Enticing, but other than that the only other jelly polish I own is Oh My GOSH Pink Red so I really need more. So if you know of any UK based brands that are easy to get hold of then please let me know. I know if I tried hard enough I could get the Nfu Oh Jelly Syrups, but they're so expensive!

Anyway, seeing as the sun isn't coming out today, I have a sunny polish to show you! I bought this last week from H&M because I really wanted another yellow. The only yellow I owned before this was NYC Colors Lexington Yellow, but I've ordered Cult Nails Feel Me Up as well. This polish was to tide me over until I get home to my Cult Nails Package!

The shade is called Lemon Tree and it's a very orange leaning yellow creme. The colour of this is similar to the photos but darker. It was totally impossible to capture on camera. This yellow really leans orange. The colour of it is similar to Sunny Delight but still darker. I really recommend you go to H&M and buy this just to see the colour!!!

The photos below show four coats with Cult Nails Wicked Fast as topcoat.

Bright Sumlight

I love this polish. I put it on yesterday morning and it hasn't chipped so far. It's such a nice colour, the kind of colour that clashes in a nice way with a lot of colours, especially the indigo dress I wore yesterday.

If you would like to buy this shade, you can find it at H&M for £2.99!
